Digestive Care Center is currently looking for an energetic Medical Receptionist for our Jasper Office! Primary responsibilities include greeting our patients and coordinating and facilitating the patient registration and check-in process of the medical office/clinic setting.
What You Need for this Position:
High school Diploma or equivalent required.
Medical office experience preferred.
Ability to communicate in a polite, calm, and professional manner.
What You Will Be Doing:
Supplies registration materials and privacy policy to patients.
Instructs patients on proper completion of forms and obtains necessary signatures.
Requests and scans patient’s insurance card(s).
Determines status of primary carrier if more than one coverage.
Updates patient data in electronic medical record.
Collects copay/coinsurance and balances payments at end of day.
Documents cancellation/no shows and notifies physician.
Prepares charts for next day’s registration.
Receives drug samples, distributes samples to drug closets and obtains physician signatures as needed for pharmaceutical representatives.
Maintains neatness of the waiting area and locks the area each evening at closing time.
Follows established procedures for answering calls, assisting callers and documenting calls.
